Description
SUMMARY
The position manages the day-to-day IT
Operations infrastructure for TV One's Silver Spring office and provides remote
support for TV One employees across the enterprise. Candidate will be available
on a 24/7 basis to address issues with mission critical systems, such as MS
Exchange and Blackberry Enterprise Server. Candidate will also be responsible
for installing and troubleshooting hardware, software, network, and audio/video
technology, in addition to logging and reporting support requests, resolutions,
and utilization. This position fulfills a highly visible customer service
oriented role and will be interacting regularly with senior management on site,
requiring strong interpersonal skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Operate independently to
solve problems and find resolutions to issues, proactively making
recommendations to senior management for process and design improvements as
warranted. • Monitor mobile device (Blackberry) on a 24 x 7 basis to insure
prompt response to customer needs. Responsible for providing immediate effective
response to customer's requests, with the goal of satisfying them immediately,
and escalating issues as needed.
• Work closely with team members to
coordinate and provide user on-site and phone support for hardware, software,
desktop, phone, blackberry, printer, and network operational problems.
•
Install, upgrade, and support desktop systems and productivity software
including Microsoft XP Professional SP3, Microsoft Office 2003 Professional,
McAfee Virus Scan, Citrix ICA Client, Adobe Reader.
• Develop, write, edit
and troubleshoot login scripts and batch files to perform a variety of tasks •
Interface with third party vendors to identify, specify, research and select
equipment for purchase or services to be rendered. Supervise service vendors to
insure compliance with TV One's requirements.
• Install, upgrade, and support
audio/video and line-of business software including, • Support of Windows
2000/2003 server technology, including Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, SQL Server,
WSUS and Terminal Server in a multi-site environment.
• Perform basic
Audio/Visual equipment configuration (for presentations, Television and Cable
tuner/DVR setup), as well as provide assistance to users
• Install, upgrade,
and support hardware including, PCs, laptops, wireless handhelds, printers,
copiers and fax machines. • Log user requests and produce reports of helpdesk
utilization
• Provide Avaya IP Office phone system administration, support
and troubleshooting • Assist with inventory management, and off-site storage
• Perform data backup and recovery administration
• Other duties as
assigned
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITES:
•
Knowledge of LAN/WAN/VPN technologies and ability to analyze and diagnose
related issues - Cisco Pix experience desirable
• Must have excellent
customer service skills and the ability to work with various levels of users.
• Must have strong problem solving skills and the ability to prioritize
heavy workloads.
• Must have strong documentation and organizational skills
as well as a keen eye for details
• Must be articulate and able to
communicate with both internal and external clientele
• At least 3-5 years of
computer/technical support experience; MCSE is a plus, MCP is required
•
Proficiency in Windows client and server operating systems and Microsoft Office
2003 applications
• Demonstrated ability to work independently outside of
traditional business hours
• Must have experience with writing, editing and
troubleshooting login scripts and batch files
• Legal right to work in the
United States
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in related field of study. Knowledge of the media &
entertainment industry is a plus.
