Biography:
Born August 29, 1958 in Gary, Indiana, Jackson first took the stage...
Born August 29, 1958 in Gary, Indiana, Jackson first took the stage at age five when he joined his four older brothers – Marlon, Jackie, Jermaine and Tito – to form the mega-successful Jackson 5.
As part of the Jackson 5, Michael soon took center stage which propelled him into a solo career that began with “Off the Wall” in 1979 which spawned such hits as Rock With You and Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough. However, Jackson reached true superstar status when he reteamed with Quincy Jones on his second solo album, the blockbuster "Thriller" which was released in 1982 with a seeming endless stream of number hits including Billie Jean, Beat It and more. Released at the dawn of MTV, Michael Jackson is often credited with being the first African-American artist to be played on the network. It was his genre-busting short form platform-form breaking video for Thriller that made Jackson a pop culture titan.
Jackson went on to release "Bad" In 1987 as well as "Dangerous" in 1991, but neither reached the same level of success. Likewise, Jackson’s fame also suffered in the late 80’s and early 90’s from a changing music scene and the dominance of hip-hop. Most damaging were allegations of sexual abuse of children visiting his Neverland ranch. Though ultimately acquitted of charges, the stigma followed Jackson. Compounding his problems was his radically changing image, which many attributed to everything to plastic surgery to the pigment disorder vitiligo. Jackson married twice, once to Lisa Presley and again to Debbie Rowe. He also fathered three children, Prince Michael, Paris and Prince Michael II.
Most recently, Michael Jackson was preparing for a 30 date world tour but died weeks before on June 25, 2009 from cardiac arrest.

R.I.P. MICHAEL JACKSON, I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU EVERYDAY ; .-)
I will Love "Mr. Michael Jackson" for ever.....
he opened my eyes to see that there is light at the end of the rainbow. i may have not come from the same type of family like he did, however, it was pretty damn close, my father walks out on us and my mother is having to be strong for 3 kids and having to maintain a job that she hates. I was going through a sucide moment in my life and i turned on the radio and here is michael singing a song ( i forgot what it was) and i felt that he was there somehow just holding me and making sure that i was ok.
I MISS YOU MICHAEL JOESPH JACKSON.
diana, if you are reading any of these comments, you are one lucky person. I wish I had someone to love me the way he loves you. And I know that whenever you go to heaven, he will be there. In fact if I am correct, just look over your shoulder now and he is there already.
I Love You, Michael
And my prayers go out to your kids and your family
I had been anticipating the show since I'd heard about it. After Michael Jackson's death, I realized that there were things about him that I didn't know such as: Did he drive? Which musical instruments did he play? What were his creative processes?
Overall, I enjoyed the show, but was disappointed that its content didn't include footage of any personal interviews with him. I had hoped to hear him speak about himself, rather than hear only others' secondary accounts of who he was. Those who were interviewed offered valuable insights into the man, but there's nothing like hearing straight from the source.
There are a multitude of celebrities, but only a few of them can be classified as creative geniuses. Michael Jackson was one. Prince is another, as well as Stevie Wonder and Raphael Saadiq. Rick James was a creative genius. The thing I want to know most about people like this is, what motivates and inspires them. What makes them tick?
Good program! I only wish they had highlighted Michael's humanitarian work, because that was so important to him and made him what he was as much as the artistry and business acumen.
Isn't that the day Michael Jackson died?

R.I.P. MICHAEL JACKSON
GONE TOO SOON
II LOVE && MISS YOU SO MUCH
there is not one single song that I can say that I do not like starting from the years of the Jackson Five until he became the solo artist. I love the family and the way that they all connect together. I want them to stay strong and grow closer. They will need to lean on each other with all the controversies that are about to come forward. Be there for the children as well. I think that his mom will be good for the children as she was a good example of a mom for her own children. God bless each and every one of them.
God Bless the Jackson family.
When he died that was my childhood that went with him.
